Now we all know about and have seen how previous episodes of the Simpsons have somehow predicted the future by predicting either new technology, pop culture, and even world events, (There is still some debate whether or not they predicted Covid-19 in episode 4.21 “Marge in Chains” where there was a news report about the “Osaka Flu” but killer bees is a dead ringer for Murder Hornets), but it looks like another sitcom is getting into the Nostradamus game or at least gave possible inspiration for one of Disney+’s new show.
*SPOLIERS* Stop reading now if you haven’t seen the first episode yet, you have been warned!
“The Book of Boba Fett” premiered last Wednesday on the streaming platform and not only did it give us a look into Boba Fett beginning his reign on Tatooine, but it showed us just exactly how he survived and got out of the Sarlacc Pit from “Return of The Jedi.” Now, not only is it incredibly badass that we saw what we all hope would’ve happened but it seems to mirror a scene from a 2013 episode of Parks and Rec (5.19 Article Two) where Patton Oswalt’s character goes on a rant to filibuster a vote and describes EXACTLY how Boba Fett should and would escape the Sarlacc Pit. What’s great about that scene is that it’s 100% improvised!
Now I’m not saying that the show truly predicted the scene more so that the writers took inspiration and it seems that Patton Oswalt himself is appreciative that they took inspiration from him.
Have you seen the Book of Boba Fett? Now I know Boba was a badass in Mandalorian, but seeing him in his own stand-alone show takes it to a whole new level!
The Book of Boba Fett is now streaming on Disney+ every Wednesday.
