Almost a week after Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s 1962 Chevy Nova was stolen, California authorities have located the pilfered vehicle.
The classic car was discovered late Tuesday night, abandoned in front of a business in El Modena, according to Costa Mesa Police Detective Joe Lopez. However, two guitars and amplifier that Armstrong had left in the vehicle are still missing, Lopez adds. “No arrests have been made in this incident and no other items that were stolen have been recovered,” he says.
The missing items — an Aria Pro II V guitar, a Roland G-707 guitar and an amplifier — are worth an estimated $48,000, says police spokeswoman Roxi Fyad. When revealing the theft last week, Armstrong said the Nova is “near and dear to all our hearts and has been in the Green Day family for over 30 years.”
Could two guitars and an amp really be worth $48,000?
