If you’re looking to spend some time in Jacksonville, Florida, you can now stay in the house that Ronnie, Johnny, and Donnie Van Zant grew up in. Aptly named “The Van Zant House”, it was first turned into an official heritage site. A plaque in front of the home notes that Ronnie, along with his brothers, current Lynyrd Skynyrd singer Johnny and former 38 Special member Donnie, “spent their formative years growing up in this house with their sisters and parents between the 1950s and 1980s.”
Currently the house that features three bedrooms and can house up to six guests goes for a rate of $274 a night. What is more impressive about the property are the owners. As they posted on the AirBNB listing, this house is a “’living tribute to the Van Zants’ and features many nods towards Lynyrd Skynyrd and their legacy.” Though a stay here may not be for everyone seeing that they have and continue to restore the house to how it was in the 1970’s (except for a few nods to technology like WIFI), so as they say if you’re looking for a modern home, this is not the place for you.
