On Monday’s episode of the Ellen Degeneres Show, Ellen welcomed, as she says, “the cutest heavy metal drummer I have ever seen.” Caleb Hayes, who is only 7 years old, has been drumming since he was 2 years old.
“My dad played drums, he taught me a little bit but not everything.” DeGeneres then asked, “So you’re saying you’re better than your dad?” to which Hayes replied, “Yeah.”
Now before he even sat down with Ellen, he started the interview off by killing it at performing “Sulfur” which is off of Slipknot’s fourth album All Hope is Gone. Rocking a leather jacket, a furby graphic tee, flame print Vans, and (my personal favorite) a rocking mohawk, this kid killed it! What’s more incredible is the moment at the end of the interview when Ellen presented Caleb with a 48ply Signature Snare Drum designed by Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg, an addition that Caleb has been saving for quite some time that retails at a whopping $1649.99!
