A Twitter debate on the best lead singer of all time drew the attention of KISS frontman Paul Stanley, who weighed in with his own personal Top 11 list.
Many of the names were the ones you might expect – like #1 Robert Plant, #3 Freddie Mercury, and #7 Janis Joplin. Others were more of a surprise – like Humble Pie’s Steve Marriott, Bad Company’s Paul Rodgers, and The Temptations’ David Ruffin. More names on the list: Rod Stewart, Steve Perry, Brian Johnson, Lou Gramm, Ann Wilson, and Brad Delp.
Who’s your pick for best lead singer of all time? What makes a lead singer ‘great’ beyond just a great singing voice?
