Heart frontwoman Ann Wilson has never been shy about her love of Led Zeppelin and Robert Plant – she even once tried to join the band.
It was shortly after Led Zeppelin reunited for the final time in 2007, when Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones decided to launch a new band without Plant, who was focused on his solo career.
Wilson says her pitch to join the new Zep went over like… well, like some kind of inflatable aircraft made of a dense, heavy metal: “I just threw my hat in the ring. I went, ‘I’m here!’ and it was crickets.“
The project never got off the ground, but reportedly considered singers like Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Alter Bridge’s Myles Kennedy.
Could anyone possibly replace Robert Plant in Led Zeppelin?
