Netflix & JJ Abrams to Team up For U2 Scripted Series

It has been announced that JJ Abrams is partnering up with streaming giant Netflix to create a new biopic scripted series showcasing U2. Abrams will also be teaming up with writer Anthony McCarten who penned the critically acclaimed “Bohemian Rhapsody”, a biopic showcasing the rise of singer Freddie Mercury and the band Queen. The announcement comes as not a shock to anyone seeing that music biopics are sort of a popular story seeing that recently we got a look into “Baz Luhrman’s Elvis” and also we saw the popularity of the movie genre from “Bohemian Rhapsody” and 2019’s Elton John biopic “Rocketman”.

The only downside to this announcement is that there is little to no other information available about this biopic. There are no plot points, information on U2’s involvement is underwraps, and there is no date as of yet for a release. All I know is that if there are any performance scenes, Abrams will for sure be adding his signature touch of explosions and lense flares.
