This past Saturday, the OSU Marching band displayed their talents and admiration to the legendary band with a medley of their hits during a halftime performance. Just like they did when they paid homage to the Holy Trinity of the North, or Rush, they delivered a choreographed segment that went on for about 8 minutes featuring the hit songs “Runnin’ With the Devil,” “Dreams,” “Panama” and “Jump.” The students moved in sync to spell out the band’s name, as well as song titles including “Dreams,” “Jump” and “1984.”
What was more impressive is the fact that the members of the marching band also choreographed a moving guitarist I can only speculate to be the late great Eddie Van Halen. And just like Bowen Yang in the spoof from SNL, I personally felt the energy swell up inside of me as I saw little red specks just effortlessly move and morph and animate that which was not existing! Ok before I get too caught up, get out the whole video for yourself and let us know what you think, which I know will be the response: “FREAKING AMAZING!”
