Bono & The Edge Perform Acoustic Set In Kyiv Bomb Shelter

U2’s Bono and The Edge showed their support for Ukraine on Sunday with a surprise concert – held in an even more surprising venue.

The duo played an acoustic set inside a Kyiv subway station that has been converted into a bomb shelter.

The set included U2 staples like “Desire” and “With or Without You”, as well as a cover of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me”.

They had been invited to perform by President Zelensky.  Bono told the gathered crowd “The people in Ukraine are not just fighting for your own freedom, you are fighting for all of us who love freedom”.

Have you ever seen a famous artist perform in a venue you wouldn’t expect?
