Yes Drummer Alan White Dead at 72

Alan White, drummer for the band Yes, has died. He was 72.

White spent 50 years as Yes’s drummer, beginning with the album “Close to the Edge.”

White had recently struggled with health issues, causing him to sit out Yes’s anniversary tour for “Close to the Edge.”

Gigi, White’s wife, shared a statement on Facebook saying, “Throughout his life and six-decade career, Alan was many things to many people: a certified rock star to fans around the world; band mate to a select few, and gentleman and friend to all who met him.”

Yes will dedicate their upcoming U.K. tour to White.
