Janis Joplin Mandolin Brings Big Bucks

A mandolin once owned by Janis Joplin AND Jimi Hendrix has a new owner.

The hand-painted mandolin brought in a whopping $281,250 at an auction with 29 bidders.

Until now, the instrument has never been up for auction, and had been a part of a private collection for 20 years after it was acquired from the Memphis Music Hall of Fame.
