Journey’s Jonathan Cain Wants To Play Super Bowl

Journey will be performing at the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend – and keyboardist Jonathan Cain is hoping it leads to another football-related gig.

Cain told Ultimate Classic Rock he’s angling to play the Super Bowl: “I’m hoping they see us and go, ‘Wait a minute – Journey’s never played a Super Bowl!’ That’s right guys, we haven’t. I shouldn’t say it out loud, but I’m secretly hoping they might put two and two together“.

Cain even suggested a Bay Area-themed Super Bowl show with artists like Santana and the Doobie Brothers.

Plenty of big-name rock bands have played the Super Bowl over the years – such as Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, The Who, Tom Petty, and U2.

Journey will be part of this year’s ‘Concert for Legends’ on August 6th.
