Sammy Hagar: ‘Alex Van Halen And I Don’t Talk’

Sammy Hagar has once more commented on the proposed all-star Van Halen tribute performance for the late Eddie Van Halen, calling it “fantastic” to play with Michael Anthony and Alex Van Halen again.

On Wednesday, November 2, during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk,” Hagar was asked if there were any updates on the tribute concert, and he said there were none.

Hagar believes Van Halen is the hold-up. “Alex Van Halen and I don’t talk,” he said. I reached out to Alex. I’m gonna tell you right now — I reached out to Alex again recently.”

He said that if Van Halen approached him, he is still down to do the tribute, but he suspects Van Halen still has a bone to pick with him about something he will likely take to his grave.

Would you attend the performance if it still happened? Why or why not?
