Journey Members Sue Each Other Over Credit Card

It seems like the only thing Journey likes more than playing music is suing each other.

The latest intra-band lawsuit involves guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Jonathan Cain – who Schon says concealed information about a Journey American Express card.

The card belongs to Nomota, a company owned by Schon and Cain to handle Journey’s business dealings. The suit claims Cain set up the Amex card “without Schon’s consent or knowledge, with only Cain as the account holder.”

“As a member and manager and founder and leader of Journey,” the papers say, “Schon has the right to access and control Nomota’s books and records. Schon must have unfettered access to Nomota’s records so he can oversee and manage Nomota/Journey.”

Schon and Cain aren’t the only Journey members involved in a legal battle. Former frontman Steve Perry is currently suing Schon and Cain over trademark registrations for 20 Journey songs.

Additionally, in 2020, former members Ross Valory and Steve Smith were fired after trying to take over the band in a ‘corporate coup d’etat’.
