Slayer guitarist Kerry King says the band’s retirement was “premature”.
In an interview with Metal Hammer, King said he still felt “anger” about the band calling it quits in 2019.
“It was premature. The reason I say ‘premature’ is because my heroes from my childhood are still playing! I can still play, I still want to play, but that livelihood got taken away from me.”
King says he misses playing and is working on a new band.
Was Slayer’s retirement ‘premature’, or did they go out at the right time? Is it better for a band to go out on top, or keep touring long past their prime?
