Lars Ulrich Blames ‘Lulu’ Reaction on ‘Ignorance’

Lars Ulrich says ‘ignorance’ is to blame for the bad reaction to “Lulu”, Metallica’s collaboration with Lou Reed.

Ulrich’s comments appear in the new Reed memoir The Art of the Straight Line: “I can’t quite figure it out, but years later, it’s aged extremely well… So I can only put the reaction down to ignorance.”

He added “Maybe it would be a better time to release it now with what’s going on outside in the world, the chaos. I don’t know, but I am very proud of this record.”

Metallica’s new album, 72 Seasons, will be out April 14th.
