Robert Trujillo does something he’s never done before on the new Metallica album – sing backup vocals.

The bassist says he’d “never sung in my whole life” when he first joined Metallica – until James Hetfield and producer Greg Fidelman asked him to sing on a new song titled “You Must Burn!”

Trujillo says he was “a little nervous” but is “very proud” of the result.

Metallica’s new album 72 Seasons will be out April 14th.
