It’s been five years since Judas Priest released the album Firepower – and the band is still toiling away on its follow-up.
That’s the word from guitarist Richie Faulkner, who says he “doesn’t exactly know” when the album will be released. “I know when we would like to have it out,” he says. “Rob [Halford] is still doing a few vocal touch-ups here and there. The majority of it is finished. And then you’ve got things to consider — like the turnaround on vinyl nowadays is six to nine months. So even if we finish the record today, as I’m talking to you, and we give it to the record label, we’re looking at six to nine months before the vinyl is ready. But it’s almost finished.”
One thing that is known about the upcoming release is it’s being produced by Andy Sneap, Tom Allom and Mike Exeter – the same production team that brought Firepower to life.
