Sixty years ago today, rock and roll history was changed forever.

On June 7th, 1963, the Rolling Stones released their first single – a cover of Chuck Berry’s “Come On”, with a cover of Muddy Waters’ “I Want To Be Loved” as the b-side.

The song peaked at #21 on the UK charts, but it kicked off a career that’s still going today.

In February, it was announced The Beatles’ Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have joined the Stones’ Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood in the studio to record the latter’s first album of new music since 2005.

McCartney’s bass tracks were recorded, according to Variety. However, it’s unclear whether McCartney and Starr will appear on the same tracks. A release date for the as-yet-untitled album has not been announced.
