Queens of the Stone Age have released a new song titled “Paper Machete.”
The song is the final preview to their upcoming eighth studio album “In Times New Roman…”
“There’s some classic us here…Like, that lead line that’s going through the song, that’s such quintessential Dean [Fertita] — it’s very him, the style and the way it’s played.” Singer Josh Homme continued, “And Troy [Van Leeuwen] was saying, ‘I’m going to do a lead that’s the exact tone as ‘Little Sister’.’ I guess we call them cousins, like ‘Little Sister’ is related to ‘Paper Machete’ — and it’s also related to our first song, ‘Regular John’, all the way back.”
Queens of the Stone Age will release their latest album “In Times New Roman…” on June 16th and will go on a North American tour through the fall.
The tour kicks off in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and wraps up at the Aftershock Festival at Discovery Park in Sacramento on Sunday, October 8th, 2023. Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Godsmack, Pantera, Incubus, Limp Bizkit, Megadeth, Rancid, Turnstile, 311, and more will join Queens Of The Stone Age and perform at Aftershock from October 5th to 8th 2023.
Thankfully, for Bay Area fans, Queens of the Stone Age will perform at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on Friday, October 6th, 2023. Tickets go on sale to the general public on June 9th.
