Alter Bridge’s Mark Tremonti and Guns N’ Roses guitar god Slash have teamed up for a very unexpected collaboration.
The two musicians recorded a cover of “Speak Softly Love” from The Godfather soundtrack, with Tremonti on lead vocals.
The track will appear in a pinball machine released to celebrate the film’s 50th anniversary. There’s also a limited-edition release on 7″ vinyl, which sold out immediately.
“The Godfather is a cinematic masterpiece that has held its place in movie history for over half a century. The Godfather pinball machine captures the essence of the films and offers a unique gameplay experience,” said Jack Guarnieri, founder of Jersey Jack Pinball. “This game is the ultimate collector’s item.”
“What makes this vinyl record truly special is that each limited edition copy will bear the authentic signatures of both Mark Tremonti and Slash,” reads the video description. “Furthermore, the proceeds from the sale of these records will be dedicated to Mark Tremonti’s Take A Chance for Charity, supporting the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS).”
