Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine is weighing in on younger audiences throwing things at artists to catch their attention during shows.
In an interview, he said, “If people don’t like you, they’re gonna throw sh*t. Maybe it’s graduated from rotten tomatoes to dildos; I don’t know. But if you’re giving them a great show, they’re not gonna do that. So don’t get up there acting like a spoiled f**king brat and telling them not to throw stuff.”
He added: “I don’t have to worry about it. Plus my eyesight is that bad, I probably won’t see anything flying through the air until it’s too late.”
Eyesight isn’t the only issue Mustaine struggles with; as he’s gotten older he’s discussed how his performances have changed.
“I think that probably the only thing I have any difficulty doing is getting up in a certain pitch now that I’ve had my neck operated on and had a metal plate put into my spine because of the damage that happened to my neck. It’s a wonder, based on everything that’s happened, the guy upstairs is even letting me continue to do what I love,” Mustaine explained.
