The iconic “Price Is Right” host Bob Barker’s death resulted from his battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

His battle with the disease was never publicly addressed, and it’s unclear when he was first diagnosed, but his death certificate indicates that his passing came “years” after his Alzheimer’s began.

Bob, who was a vegetarian for over 40 years, notably teamed up with PETA in 2013 for a campaign that highlighted how a vegetarian diet could help prevent the brain disorder.

A representative announced Barker’s death on Saturday, August 26th.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce that the World’s Greatest MC who ever lived, Bob Barker has left us.”

“Daytime television has lost one of its most iconic stars,” a statement from CBS read. “During his 35 years as host of ‘The Price Is Right’ Bob made countless people’s dreams come true and everyone feel like a winner when they were called to ‘come on down.’”
