Corey Taylor Says He Was ‘So Nervous’ to Perform with ‘SpongeBob’ Voice Actor

Corey Taylor is no stranger to the stage, but performing with this particular guest made him “so nervous.”

Taylor performed the “SpongeBob Squarepants” theme song with Tom Kenny – who voiced the titular character – on stage at the Huntington Comic and Toy Convention.

Even though Taylor has performed for massive crowds for years, he said, “It’s not often that I get really nervous, and I was so nervous doing that — largely because we didn’t rehearse it. We just went up there and we were, like, ‘Okay, let’s, let’s have it,’ you know?”

“He was so cool and just so much fun and one of the nicest people I’ve ever met,” Taylor noted of Kenny.

“I’ve been a fan of his for years…So it was this weird kind of culmination of a lot of years of me following him as an actor. It was just really weird. It was a lot of fun, but it was just so bizarre. I was, like, ‘How did we get here, dude? Like, what happened?’” Taylor continued.

The Slipknot frontman has been a fan of the cartoon for years and would watch the show with his son, Griffin.
