AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson says he’s “fired up” for the band’s long-awaited return to the stage next month.
The band will be headlining the Power Trip festival in their first live performance since 2016.
Johnson’s friend Greg Billings gave an update on the Beyond The Thunder podcast: “He’s been getting in shape. He’s so fired up. They’re going to rehearse for five weeks doing nothing but playing.”
AC/DC will perform on the second night of the festival on Saturday, October 7th.
The headliners-only festival recently released its set times, which does not include any band conflicts so attendees can see every performance.
Power Trip features just six bands – AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest – with two bands playing each night. Originally, Ozzy Osbourne was set to perform, however, in July, he announced he was pulling out of the festival due to health reasons. One day later, Judas Priest was named as Ozzy’s replacement.
