Marc LaBelle of Dirty Honey joins Chasta and Baby Huey to discuss the future of walk of rock and roll.

Dirty Honey formed in 2017 and has risen to fame over the last six years journey, quickly becoming the new face of rock and roll music.

LaBelle says there are many upsides to the band’s sucess, but “the ultimate compliment [is] when your heroes appreciate you…but then you know, like the other side of it is when you see on Instagram or Tiktok…a little kid picking up a guitar or whatever and playing your riff like that melts me so…both ends of the spectrum we’re getting it from and it’s really cool.”

Dirty Honey recently co-headlined the ‘Young Guns’ tour with Mammoth WVH. LaBelle said going on tour with Mammoth WVH was “a great match,” calling Wolfgang “an incredibly talented musician.”

For the fans, the tour was “A great way to showcase two up-and-coming bands” and it doesn’t hurt that Wolfgang is “An incredibly talented musician on every instrument that he plays: bass guitar, drums, keys, singing, he’s a total virtuoso in all aspects of rock music.”

When it comes to putting on a good show, LaBelle said “First and foremost, it’s always about the music.”

“Our managers never shy about reminding us of that you’ve got to write great songs that people want to listen to all the time and if you don’t do that, it doesn’t matter what you look like, you’re not going to go very far. So, focus on the music, and then everything else should fall into place.” LaBelle continued.

“We all have a pretty strong passion for fashion and for stage design and putting on a good show. I tend to think there’s definitely a difference between a concert and a show, and I think for great rock bands are sort of a happy medium between the two, a nice blend of…great lighting and stage design, Pyro, [and] video content that goes along with the concert, again as an extension of the music.”
