Dave Grohl turned Foo Fighters from a solo project into the world’s biggest rock band – but it didn’t happen overnight.
In a 2021 NPR interview, Grohl admitted that he was “mortified” by the very first Foo Fighters demo.
“Once I started recording in studios, I would record songs of my own — I never let anyone hear them because I was mortified. I thought, ‘Oh God, these lyrics are terrible. Oh my God, my voice is terrible.’”
Those demos would eventually become the first Foo Fighters album – with Grohl handling all the instruments and vocals himself.
Thankfully, the album and band have had continued success – The Foo Fighters will hit the road next year for their ‘Everything Or Nothing At All’ stadium tour. The 12-date tour kicks off on July 17th with two shows at New York’s Citi Field and wraps up on August 18th at Seattle’s T-Mobile Park.
They’ll be joined by a rotating list of supporting acts including The Pretenders, The Hives, Mammoth WVH, Amyl & The Sniffers, Alex G, and L7.
