Bono doesn’t like to hear himself sing.

In an interview, the U2 singer said, “The [song] that I can listen to the most is ‘Miss Sarajevo’ with Luciano Pavarotti. Genuine, most of the other ones make me cringe a little bit. Although ‘Vertigo’ probably is the one I’m proudest of. It’s the way it connects with the crowd.”

Bono also talked about the one song that always delivers for the crowd, which is “Where The Streets Have No Name.”

“If ever a song got to live up to a ridiculous billing, ‘Where The Streets Have No Name’ is that song,” Bono said. “We must have played it a thousand times, and no matter how shite a show, how off form the band or, more likely, the singer, to this day when we play ‘Streets,’ it’s as if God walks through the room.”

“I do think U2 pushes out the boat on embarrassment quite a lot and maybe that’s the place to be as an artist, you know right at the edge of your level of embarrassment,” Bono continued.
