San Francisco Considers Making ‘Right on Red’ Illegal

Should it be illegal to make a right turn on a red light? Several cities in the United States are looking at banning the practice.

Cities including San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Denver have all looked at “right on red” bans, which they say will cut down on accidents involving pedestrians or bicyclists.

Washington D.C. has already passed a ban that takes effect in 2025, while the city of Ann Arbor, MI has banned the practice in the downtown area.

New York City, meanwhile, has never permitted right turns on red lights.

What do you think of these bans? Do you think banning “right on red” will help lower the number of accidents? Share your opinions on 107.7 The Bone’s Facebook or Twitter page.
