Wolfgang Van Halen was posed with a difficult question: Which four musicians would you choose to make the perfect supergroup?
Before he gave his answers, he was told he couldn’t pick anyone from Van Halen.
On guitar, he picked Aaron Marshall, who he calls his “favorite guitar player right now.”
On drums, he picked Porcupine Tree’s Gavin Harrison. On bass, he picked Tool’s Justin Chancellor. Fronting the band is Karnivool’s Ian Kenny.
Wolfgang recently made headlines for revealing why Van Halen’s final album “A Different Kind of Truth” isn’t available for streaming.
When asked if he knows why the album isn’t available for streaming, Wolfgang Van Halen said, “Yes. The contract ran out on putting it up on streaming services. So we’ve been working on getting it back, but there are some people involved who do not like that record and are not making it easy to get it back up.”
Then, when asked if these people commonly go by three initials (meaning DLR/David Lee Roth), Wolfgang said, “Probably. I mean, yeah, you can put it together.”
Wolfgang concluded by saying he hopes fans have a “physical version” of the album.
