The success of Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour Movie” has people wondering: could we be seeing more concert films in theaters soon?
According to Tom DeLonge of Blink-182, the band has considered doing a concert movie. DeLonge said that “some version” of a similar film has already been pitched to the band.
“It always comes across the desk every few months. Some version.” He explained, “We’ve talked about doing something on this next tour that we just launched…We’ve definitely talked about versions.”
“You know, Taylor is a phenomenon.” he continued, “She can demand ticket sales. You and I both know how hard it is to get people to want to go to a movie theater. I don’t know if people would come to see Blink in a movie theater for the music, but they might come for the d*ck jokes. So maybe we focus on that?”
Following Blink-182’s release of their long-awaited reunion album “ONE MORE TIME…” in October, the band announced a 30-date North American arena tour and shared two bonus songs from the album.
Whether a concert film comes to fruition or not, Bay Area fans can see Blink-182 perform at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Tuesday, July 9th.
