McCartney Says ‘Let It Be’ Was Inspired By Shakespeare

YouTube, @The Beatles.

Paul McCartney says one of the Beatles’ biggest hits was inspired by one of the few British people even more famous than McCartney himself – William Shakespeare.

He also said the song is about an actual dream he had about his mother, who died of cancer when McCartney was just 14.
