Eddie Van Halen’s family ordered pizza right after he died.

The musician passed away in hospital in October 2020 after battling throat cancer.

Eddie’s ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli, their son Wolfgang Van Halen, his brother Alex and his siblings’ two children found comfort by honoring the rocker with his favorite food.

Bertinelli says, “I didn’t want to believe it was happening. Even while it was happening, I wasn’t believing it was happening.”

She explained, “I forget who suggested it, but we were like, ‘Should we have pizza?’ Because he couldn’t eat, and the last thing Ed really wanted was pizza. He loved pizza, so we had pizza in his hospital room. I hope people don’t think that’s morbid.”
