In the new Rolling Stone cover story, Sabrina Carpenter revealed that she is contemplating the idea of banning cell phones from her future concerts. The pop superstar says that she was inspired by a phone-free experience at a recent Silk Sonic show in Las Vegas. “I’ve never had a better experience at a concert,” she recalls. “I genuinely felt like I was back in the ’70s — wasn’t alive. Genuinely felt like I was there. Everyone’s singing, dancing, looking at each other, and laughing. It really, really just felt so beautiful.” Carpenter acknowledged that implementing a phone-locking policy, a practice already adopted by other artists like Madonna, Paul McCartney, Jack White, and Adele, could face some backlash. “This will honestly piss off my fans,” she concedes, while adding, “I can’t blame people for wanting to have memories.
