Deftones’ new album, Private Music, debuted at No. 1 on all of Billboard’s key rock album charts this week, including Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Alternative Albums, and Top Hard Rock Albums, with the set earning 87,000 equivalent album units in its first week of release. This marks the band’s first No. 1 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart and their third leader on Top Hard Rock Albums. Private Music also debuted at No. 5 on the all-genre Billboard 200, becoming the California alt-metal band’s fifth Top 5 album of their career. Additionally, the album’s current single, “Infinite Source,” topped Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, joining the record’s lead single, “My Mind Is a Mountain,” which reached No. 1 on the tally in July, and currently tops the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. Remarkably, Deftones occupy the entire top six spots on Hot Hard Rock Songs, with every track from the album ranking in the chart’s Top 16. (Billboard)
