John Fogerty’s Re-Recorded CCR Hits Album, ‘Legacy,’ Debuts In Top 10 Of Billboard’s Album Sales Chart

John Fogerty’s new album featuring re-recorded versions of his past CCR hits, titled Legacy: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Years (John’s Version), debuted at No. 9 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, selling nearly 8,000 copies in the week ending August 28. The collection features the 80-year-old Fogerty revisiting CCR classics like “Proud Mary,” “Bad Moon Rising,” and “Up Around the Bend,” which were all Top Five-charting singles back when they were initially released. Legacy also debuted on the Americana/Folk Albums chart at No. 13 and the Independent Albums tally at No. 35. The strong arrival of Fogerty’s album coincides with multiple high-profile entries on the Top Album Sales chart, including Stray Kids’ KARMA bowing at No. 1 with 296,000 copies sold, alongside impressive debuts from Laufey, Deftones, and Three Days Grace, who all placed albums in the Top 10 this week.
