David Gibson

Dave Gibson was born in Allentown, PA in 1982, the oldest of five kids. A fascination with drums at a young age led to performing in numerous bands throughout high school and college. With one semester to go at Temple University, he dropped out to tour the country drumming for Sony recording artist Adam Richman.

After two years based out of New York City, he returned to Philadelphia to complete his college degree and landed an internship on 102.9 WMGK’s John DeBella Show. His rock experience and “man-on-the-street” segments endeared him to the audience, leading to a 16 year stint co-hosting on the morning show. He also hosted “The Hangover Show,” Saturday mornings from 6-11am, a fan-favorite and programming staple. Industry upheaval let to an unforeseen exit in 2022, which fortuitously led to an opportunity at a radio station he used to record songs on cassette to as a child. Thankfully, WODE traded oldies for classic rock – a perfect fit for his background and knowledge!

Dave currently enjoys life in the woods of Quakertown, PA, along with his wife and two young boys. He’s an avid golfer, nature-lover, hack photographer and James Bond freak. Buy him a pint or simply tune into the morning show and he’ll love you forever.
