Inside a bond proposal that Shreveport will vote on soon is 1 million dollars to demolish Fair Grounds Field and replace it with nothing. A parking lot will stand in its place if the proposal goes through. The field has been in existence since 1986 and was the home to professional baseball teams The Shreveport Swamp Dragons and the Shreveport Captains. There are hearings about the bond proposals for the community and you can attend them to learn more and voice your opinion. Baseball has struggled to stay in Shreveport, but this would mean even if there was a team interested in coming here there would no longer be a place to field it.
