The only downside to having friends is sometimes they remind us too much that they are people. And sometimes we can’t people today. A new survey found that 47 percent of us have FAKED an excuse to get out of plans we made with people. Oh, it’s also usually so we can stay home alone and watch TV.
- 76 percent of people who’ve faked an excuse said they just wanted to stay home and binge-watch something.
- When we skip out on plans, we’re most likely to do it via text. Calling and leaving a voicemail was a close second though, so thankfully nobody picks up the phone anymore.
- 43 percent of people who’ve faked an excuse said they felt guilty when they canceled. That includes 47 percent of women and 39 percent of men.
- 27 percent of fakers said they’ve avoided social media to not get caught in a lie. Also, 26 percent of us have turned our phones off and 15 percent of we, the liars, have turned the lights off at our home just in case someone drives by to check (and, at the same time, be the CREEPIEST FRIEND we’ve ever had).
