An elderly couple's home went up in flames in Frankfort early Wednesday morning.
The couple's daughter said her parents smelled smoke inside their Bender Drive home around 3 a.m., called for help and got out of the house. The fire caused significant damage to one side of the home, but nobody was hurt.
Fire department crews were still on the scene at 5 a.m. putting out hot spots.
Firefighters say it appears the fire started in the attic, but they have not determined the cause. Investigators will comb through the scene later Tuesday to make that determination.
