Teen Shot in Franklin County

Deputies arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting of a teenager in a Franklin County mobile home park after a long standoff Monday evening. Deputies responded to the mobile home park off Duckers Station Road, between Leestown Pike and I-64, around 7 p.m. Officials say the victim was rushed to UK Hospital and described his condition as critical. The Franklin County sheriff says the suspect fled across a nearby golf course and along a set of railroad tracks. RJ Corman police located him at an overpass. The sheriff says the suspect held himself at gunpoint for more than four hours as deputies negotiated with him. 55 year old Samuel Dean Isaacs finally surrendered just after midnight. Deputies took him into custody and charged him with wanton endangerment, resisting arrest and assault. Officials did not release the identity of the teen, or any information on the relationship between Isaacs and the victim.
