Crews from several fire departments battled a fire in an historic Harrodsburg building Friday morning. Firefighters were called to the Opera House on Main Street around 4 a.m. after a passerby reported seeing flames on the first floor. Firefighters say flames had spread to the second and third floors by the time they arrived. Crews were able to put the fire out in about 30 minutes. The fire damaged the opera house side of the building, but did not spread to the attached old city hall. There were no reported injuries.
