A woman was critically injured in a single-vehicle accident in Lexington late Sunday night. Police say the woman was heading outbound along Todds Road, between Palumbo Drive and Liberty Road, just before midnight, when she lost control and slammed into a tree. Fire department crews had to cut the victim out of the wrecked car. The woman was taken to University of Kentucky Hospital. Officials called her injuries life threatening. Officials say it appears the victim was not wearing a seat belt.
