Lexington police are looking into the second robbery of the morning. Police say a woman was leaving her apartment on North Mt. Tabor Road around 4 a.m. Tuesday when two men jumped her. They forced her behind a dumpster, took her purse and other items, and then left the complex in a black car. At least one of the suspects was armed with a gun and they were both wearing dark hoodies. Police searched the area around the Stoney Brooke Apartments, but turned up no sign of the suspects. The woman was not hurt.
About two hours earlier, two men robbed a UK student along Scott Street, between South Broadway and South Limestone. The suspect descriptions were similar and they also left in a black car. Police continue to investigate if the two robberies might share a connection.
