A woman and her grandson escaped a burning Georgetown home Wednesday night. The woman says her grandson came running down the hall of their Melville Place home around 11 p.m. yelling that the house was on fire and they needed to get out. The woman and boy got out safely and called 911. Firefighters contained the flames to a front bedroom, but the entire home sustained smoke damage. Firefighters say the damage made the house uninhabitable. Officials say they have not determined the cause of the fire.
