Man Arrested for Shooting

Police have charged the man accused of driving a car that hit a Lexington house while fleeing police Monday in connection with a weekend shooting.Police say  19 year old Kashajuan Kalil Lyvers fled from an officer trying to make a traffic stop. Officials say officers called off the pursuit when Lyvers began driving recklessly. Police say a few minutes later, Lyvers drove up on the sidewalk near the intersection of Shropshire Avenue and Breckenridge Street and got out of the car without putting it in park. The vehicle rolled into trash can, crushing it against the side of a home on Breckenridge Street. According to court documents, police tracked down Lyvers and witnesses identified him as the driver of the car. Officers say they found a handgun in the vehicle. According to court documents, police say Lyvers was the man who fired shots near the intersection of East Sixth Street and Mustang Crossing Saturday night, hitting a man in the arm.
