The coroner has identified the person killed in a four-vehicle crash along Tates Creek Road in Lexington Tuesday morning. The coroner reports that 18-year-old Daniel Ethan Stamper died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries he sustained in the crash. The accident happened around 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of Parliament Way. Stamper was pronounced dead at 7:00 a.m.
Officials say a Mitsubishi traveling at a high rate of speed clipped a truck in front of it, spun, and was then T-boned by another car. A fourth vehicle was caught up in the crash. Initial reports indicated that Stamper was a passenger in the Mitsubishi.
Two drivers were taken to the hospital. Officials did not release any information about their conditions nor did they say which car Stamper was driving.
