Congratulations to:

Judge Robert G. Johnson of Georgetown.  He’s been appointed to a vacant seat on the Court of Appeals.  The seat became vacant when Judge Laurence VanMeter was elected to the state Supreme Court.  Johnson will serve until the 2018 midterm election.

Joey Ilagan, an eighth-grader at Tates Creek Middle School, winner of the University of Kentucky Spelling Bee, which qualifies him for the Scripps National Spelling Be, May 28-June 3 outside Washington, D.C.
