Evan Winkler, and 8th grader at Morton Middle School in Lexington. He’s Kentucky’s winner in the 2017 National Geographic Bee. He’ll be one of the 54 students in the national chammpionship in Washington , D.C. in May.
LexPlastics of Lexington, awarded a Governor’s Safety and Health Award for more than 480 thousand consecutive hours without a lost time injury or illness.
Lily Columbia-Embury of Lafayette High School, Sydney Gordon of Henry Clay and Arthur Hall of Bryan Station High School. They’ve been accepted into the Class of 2019 for the Craft Academy at Morehead State University. The program allows them to finish high school while earning college credit hours. All three are sophomores.
Sophomores Pranay Agrawal, Elvin Irihamye, Ivy Irihamye and Subersham Wigna-Kumar of Paul Laurence Dunbar, Jackson Codispoti and Sarah Yaacoub of Lafayette, Ethan Volk of Tates Creek. They will all be part of the Class of 2019 at the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky. They’ll live in Bowling Green during their junior and senior years and will graduate from high school with up to 60 college credits.
