State Sen. Reginald Thomas, the 2017 Rice C. Leach Public Health Hero.  The award is given each year to individuals who have demonstrated their dedication to improving the health of Lexington residents.

Theodore R. Kuster of Paris, Kim Harpole and Francis Richard Hamilton of Georgetown, and Dr. Stuart E. Brown II of Versailles, all appointed to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 14th Judicial Circuit and District.

Carla Trisko of Morton Middle School in Lexington, names Teacher of the Year by Kentucky Green and Healthy Schools.

Kit Carson Elementary in Madison County and Morton Middle School, Providence Montessori Middle School and Redwood Cooperative School, all in Fayette County.  They’ve been recognized for student projects promoting school and community health and environmental sustainability by Kentucky Green and Healthy Schools.
